Owners Rob & Connie Quinton started the business by following in the footsteps of Rob's father, who loved the food industry and working with people. From modest beginnings, the business has grown into one of Calgary's best known catering companies.

Distinctive now orchestrates elaborate upscale events of all kinds, as well as catering to corporate Calgary. We’ll go anywhere that people are craving a great meal — from weddings and Christmas dinners, to Stampede events and corporate receptions, and everything in between.

Our Family

Our team is more like a family, and they are the key to our success. We employ 15 full-time staff, as well as banquet servers and managers who keep our workplace fun and friendly. If you combine our experience, you have over 200 years of knowledge in the hospitality industry!

23 of those years come from Executive Chef Michael Marko, who has been part of our team since 2006. Formally trained at the French Culinary School, Michael spent 18 years working and learning in some of Vancouver’s most upscale eateries. Chef Marko’s management style and culinary IQ has expanded our culinary offerings to many new directions. As well as traditional fare, we offer our guests modern and popular choices, including molecular gastronomy and health conscious cuisine.

Thanks to our dedicated Chefs, Event Planners and Service team, we can offer anything from wedding buffets, upscale executive events, grand openings, team building, to pig roasts and so much more.
